The challenge
For the Municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland, we produced a video shown at the opening of the annual sports awards. The film's purpose was to demonstrate that sports on the island are thriving. Schouwen-Duiveland has a rich club life with a wide range of sports for young and old, including sports opportunities for people with disabilities. The film needed to evoke recognition and pride among athletes, clubs, volunteers, and other participants in the island's sports community. The video was also shared on social media to draw extra attention to local sports.
Our role
Once the goal and message were clear, we translated these into a concept where different sports and clubs come together in one narrative film. We chose a voice-over as the connecting element. Since we wanted to showcase as many sports as possible in one film, this required careful preparation and tight scheduling of various locations and sporting moments. In approximately one and a half shooting days, we filmed multiple sports at various locations across Schouwen-Duiveland.
The result
In the edit, the scenes alternate rapidly, creating a dynamic film with a cinematic style fitting for an event opening film. The video was shown at the sports awards and was received with great recognition by the audience. Athletes, volunteers, and clubs saw their own environment reflected in the film and responded enthusiastically. The client also responded very positively to the result.
